You told me when I wished to go home that I should have Transportation there and back again. When You gave me the appointment of Agt of Iredell Catawba and Alexander Counties, I will have the past Seasons business in a Shape by the first of January that I can go, I have my Brother to assist me who will do my business while I am gone I wish to Stay 30 days. My home is at Fort Wayne Indiana and have not been home since I was mustered out of the Service which was the 31st Aug last was with Capt Emery from the first of May to that time in the Office at Salisbury N.C. Am getting along finely in my Co. making Contracts for the next Season have all I can do every day at it and when once done the business will not be so troublesome as now.
